Software Informer has great potential. I think the following features would make it into a killer app.
(1) Community Disagree option - If you think a listed version is incorrect you can elect to disagree. You can also set a max disagree limit for yourself so that versions are ignored if too many people disagree.
(2) Make a distinction between Release and Beta Software
(3) Option to set Release and Beta reporting on a Per application basis.
(4) Option to ignore until a specific version. So for example, I'm not interested in notification until version 3 comes out.
I found SI the other day, and it's great. I was previously using appget, but this product is more up-to-date and has the software database website to go with it. Keep up the great work!
blocks my microsoft update downloads i want you off my pc but program says i do not have the authorization !!! i am the administrator and if i say go then go!!
Hi Paul---I'm wondering---are you running Vista? Your 'problem' may very well be your OS, or your settings. I have installed this app on XP and on 2003, and successfully fully uninstalled, then later, re-installed. No problem------. I know that I am only one person, but if you downloaded Software Informer, you may also have downloaded other apps. Thus, another possibility is that a different download is causing some system issues. My windows update service behaves in the same fashion as before: I have received a couple security updates automatically since installing SI.
